As the world becomes more competitive and complex, creativity becomes the most essential skill for gaining the competitive advantage. It is therefore important to find out ways of boosting creativity of individuals, and Kreamer has done exactly that. The suggestions in the article can greatly help boost creativity.
For creativity to be realized, the environment must be conducive. Reducing the stress, getting out of the office and into unfamiliar environments, and letting your mind wander, are ways of realizing a conducive environment for creativity. Stress is identified as one of the factors that affect creativity. By reducing stress and relaxing, insight is encouraged and creativity boosted. In most cases, innovation is provoked and informed. Exposure to unfamiliar perspectives and rich diversity of unfamiliar life can help someone gain experience that provokes creativity. One needs to have a broad perspective on a problem in order to come up with a solution; and, the broader the understanding of the problem, the better the solution.
Based on my creativity score (84), I am very creative. My creativity is linked to personality traits and conducive environments. Most of the suggestions herein are already employed in my own life. For instance, I try as much as possible to relax the mind and avoid stress. However, I don’t over relax and forget the course: I always remain focused. As Jobs puts it, creativity is about connecting things, and one needs to have very diverse experiences in order to come up with better solutions for the problems. I always try to get exposure to unfamiliar perspectives and allow my mind wonder.
