Principal Anthony Jackson is leaving Hillcrest to become one of two Directors, Community Schools Transformation in Local District West. In his new position, Mr. Jackson will lead school transformation efforts in 11 elementary schools in Local District West while providing additional support to five middle and high schools.
Describing the move as bittersweet, Mr. Jackson is excited for this next chapter in a career that has spanned 32 years and also saddened about leaving his Hillcrest family. "By no means is my love affair with the Hillcrest school community over. It's entering a distance relationship now," he said. "I've developed many wonderful relationships with Hillcrest stakeholders over the four years I was principal. I look forward to maintaining that kinship."
The school is already in the process of forming a site-based committee consisting of parents, teachers, and staff to find the next Hillcrest principal. More information about the process is forthcoming.
