On Tuesday, June 4, our 5th grade scholars in Mr. Butler's Mr. Lopez’s, Ms. Nunez’s, Ms. Pink's, and Ms. Saks’, classrooms completed their time at Hillcrest with a very special ceremony at the Dorsey High School auditorium, marking their transition to middle school.
On Thursday, June 6, it was Kindergarten’s turn with Ms. Fortson's, Mr. Molina's, Ms. Soto's, and Ms. Spencer-Richard’s, budding scholars culminating in the morning, and Ms. Almanza’s, and Dr. Palacios' awesome students doing so in the afternoon. They are now officially big-time first graders moving up to the big playground!
There was singing, dancing, and recitations, plus a whole lot of pride and love. Thanks to all of the teachers and staff for the immense effort that they put into making the culmination ceremonies this week such huge successes.
Hillcrest also hosted a bonus culmination for UCLA Teacher Education Program resident teachers the following Thursday, June 13! Our very own Ms. Ronan and Ms. Carroll were among a number of 1st-year teachers who presented their culminating project presentations for their Master's Degrees in Education. Their families joined them for the special occasion.
Congratulations to our culminating scholars (and teachers) and their families! We wish you nothing but success next year and beyond!
